Jack Arthur Rogers, 89, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was born December 2, 1928 in Glennville, Georgia to Byron Green Rogers, Sr. and Julia Smiley Rogers and lived in Glennville all of his life. He was inducted into the United States Navy in December 1944 where he served as Seaman First Class until his Honorable Discharge in 1946. He was a Charter Member of Glennville VFW Post #8379, serving as Quartermaster for thirty years. Jack began a long career in banking at the Glennville Bank in May 1946 as assistant cashier. He was promoted to cashier in 1952 and joined the Bank Board of Directors in 1969. He was promoted to Vice President in 1974 and Executive Vice President in 1986. He retired from the Glennville Bank in 1990 and the Board of Directors in 1998. Jack loved spending time with his family at Shellman Bluff and fishing. He enjoyed farming and attending to his pecan orchard and was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jewel Phillips, Edna Belle Mulligan, brothers, Ira, Carlton, B.G. and Billy Rogers.

Special caregiver, Patty Reddish and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Friday, April 10, 2015 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Glennville First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery with Military Honors.
