James “Jimmy” Joseph Burke, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born July 14, 1937 in Naticoke, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Theodosia Burke and moved to Savannah as a child. He graduated from Savannah High School and while in Savannah he met the love of his life, Elaine. Jimmy retired from Georgia Pacific Distribution Center in Savannah after 33 years of service. He is preceded in death by, his wife of 49 years Elaine Burke; his twin sister, Jeannie Meredith; sister Dorothy Inglisa and brother, Joseph Burke.
He is survived by, his loving children, Joey, Tammy, Mark, Jerry and Andy (Jan); two grandsons, Bryce and Emmett all of Glennville. Beloved siblings, sisters, Pat Williamson of Texas, Ruth Wellington (Ray) of Alabama, Mary Strane (Tom) of Georgia; sisters-in-law, Susan Burke of Utah, Barbara Harp of Georgia; brother-in-law, Angelo Inglisa of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Private Services will be held at a later date.
Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville is in charge of the arrangements.
