James Ricky Flury

James Ricky Flury, 69, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 28, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

 Ricky was born on March 1, 1955, in Soperton, Georgia to William Bryant and Sylvia Stone Flury. He led a life marked by dedication, passion, and a profound love for his family and friends. 

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Ricky exemplified courage and commitment throughout his service. His military background was a source of pride for him, shaping the strong principles that defined his character. He embraced life engaging in hobbies that brought him immense joy. Fishing, hunting, and camping were among his favorite pastimes, allowing him to enjoy the beauty of nature while creating lasting memories with loved ones.

James was particularly fond of spending time with his family, wherein he found his greatest happiness. His ability to connect with others made him a dear companion, and he cherished the moments spent reminiscing with his best friend. His work ethic was admirable; he approached each task with determination and diligence, a reflection of his personality.

He is preceded in death by, his parents, brothers, Paul Will Flury, Earnest Wayne Flury, William "Bill" Flury, a sister, Rebecca "Becky" Flury and wife, Audrey Flury.

Visitation will begin at 11:45, Friday, January 3, 2025 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 3, 2025 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
