James Robert "Jimmy" Flynt


Metter- James Robert "Jimmy" Flynt 71, of Metter died Saturday at Candler County Hospital. He has lived in Candler County most of his life. He was currently serving Candler County as Chief Financial Officer, after serving 4 years as County Administrator. Prior to his employment with the county he retired after 41 years as an assistant manager and loan officer for Commercial Credit, and Citi Financial. He was a member of Metter United Methodist Church. His hobbies included fishing, and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents John Milton and Martha Eller Sander Flynt.

He is survived by his wife Patricia "Pat" Hadden Flynt. Daughters Sherry (Robert) Schoenfeld of Knoxville, TN, Robyn (James) Tippins of Claxton GA, Talette (Matt) Tootle of Statesboro, GA, Charity (Robby) Lowe, Cobbtown, GA. Also surviving are brothers; Kenneth (Melody) Flynt, Malcolm Flynt,Chester (Frances) Flynt of Metter,GA, Ronny (Johnnie Lou) Flynt, Tommy (Elaine) Flynt, and sister, Sandra (Glenn) Cardell all of Metter. 10 grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday June 4, 2014 2:00pm at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel with Rev. Johnny Beasley and Rev. James Tippins officiating. Burial to follow at the Lake Church Cemetery in Metter.

Visitation will be Tuesday June 3, 2014 5:00pm-8:00pm at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel.

Honorary Pallbearers: John Robert Bowen, Joe R. Brannen, Grady Franklin, Brinson Lanier, H.V. Lanier, Sonny Morgan, Sr., and the Metter High School Class of 1961.

Pallbearers: Mark Bland, Mike Durden, Kenny Flynt, Shane Hadden, Robert Hendrix, and Johnny Holloway.
