James Monroe

September 22, 1932 — March 10, 2012

Metter - James Howard "Giggie" Monroe, 79 died Saturday evening at Azaelea Nursing Home. He had lived most of his life in the Aline community, was a member of the Stillmore Baptist Church. He was a mechanic and also enjoyed fast cars. He was predeceased by his wife Hermalene DeLoach Monroe, son Keith Monroe and one brother.

Surviving, one son, Jack Monroe of Cobbtown, two daughters, Ann (Ricky) Freeman of Metter, Brenda (Robert) Hill of Hinesville. Three brothers, William (Vondell) Monroe, Bernice (Betty) Monroe both of Metter, Roy (Jean) Monroe of Orange Park, FL. Two sisters, Lois (Lewis) Canady of Harleyville, SC, Melba (Junior) McCoy of Cobbtown, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 2pm in the chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Aline. Visitation will be 10am until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
