James E. "J.E." Stanfield, 85, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Camellia Health and Rehab in Claxton. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of his life. He owned and operated Stanfield Timber before his retirement. He was a former Tattnall County Commissioner for 12 years, member of the Democratic Executive Committee, an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Horne, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vina Lee Stanfield of Claxton

17, Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephew also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Monday, June 13, 2011 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stanfield Family Cemetery.
