Jasper Smith

Jasper “Jack” Smith, 80, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Jack was born April 3, 1941 to Mullis Clifford and Evie Lee Underwood Smith and lived here all of his life. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired from Georgia State Prison as a correctional officer after 30 years of service. Jack was also an Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner Representative for over 30 years and loved to read, play cards, pick on others and hand out candy to everyone. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was a member of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, children, Ralph Smith, Mark Smith, Jeffery Smith and a sister, Elizabeth Ogburn.

Grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Kaitlyn Jordan, MacKenzie Jordan, Tyler Jordan

Great-Grandchildren, Ella Jae Brown and Jacklyn Dubberly

Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Elder Clay Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
