Jean Fulghum

January 22, 1929 — July 20, 2012

Jean Bush Fulghum, 83, died Friday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was a 1946 graduate of Tennille High School and lived in Metter for the past 20 years where she was a member of the Metter First Baptist Church. She was a former bookkeeper for Franklin Chevrolet in Metter and retired from Childre Chevrolet in Tennille. She enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables and loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents Daniel Hubert and Worthy Mae Lord Bush, one brother; Hubert Bush, four sisters; Gladys Bush, Eloise Luke, Winifred Ray, Joyce Lord Caswell, her husband of fifty five years Marion J. Fulghum, Jr. and one son; Danny Fulghum.
Survivors : daughters; Paula (Mahlon) Martin of New Market, Virginia, Linda (Freddie) Wallace of Metter, daughter-in-law; Kay Fulghum of Dothan, Alabama, one brother; William (Dody) Bush of Shreveport, Louisiana, one sister; Betty Jo (Marvin) Carnish of Milledgeville, Georgia, grandchildren; Kelli Brinson, Klay Fulghum, Kasey Beaty, Raleigh Rogers, Jr., Leah Huffman, Regan Smith, Erin Glanton, seventeen great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 11:00 am at the Metter First Baptist Church with Rev. David Carnish, Rev. Floyd Harrison and Elder Mike Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time at the church.

Active pallbearers are Jessie Ray Collins, Bill Gibbs, Robert Franklin, Delacy Luke, Jalvis Motes and Robert Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Naomi Ester Sunday School Class.

The family requests remembrances to Metter First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 34, Metter, Georgia.
