Mrs. Jean Shuman, 85, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro. The South Carolina native had lived here most of her life. She worked in the lunchroom at Collins Elementary School and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a member of Rogers Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Shuman.

Linda Hyche (Jerry) of Greenville, SC
John Shuman (Cindy) of Reidsville
Sister:Ruby Mitchum of Summerville, SC
Grandchildren:Derrick Oliver, Brandon Shuman, Misty Arnold
4 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Reidsville.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, September 23, 2011 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel with Rev. Jerald Dorr and Rev. Steve Kimbrell officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Derrick Oliver, Joe Arnold, Larry Shuman, Brandon Shuman, Calvin Shuman, Don Shuman.
