Jennifer Quinn Martinez, 52, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Hospice of Savannah, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born February 13, 1972 in Los Angeles, California.
Quinn enlisted in the United States Marine Corps when she was 18 years old and left home on a new journey. She entered the service as a Radio Technician and also became certified as an Engineer Equipment Operator. The highlights of her service as a Marine, however, were her assignment as a Marine Security Guard and later as a Drill Instructor at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island, SC. That is where she truly found her purpose and passion: training young men and women to serve this country with honor, courage, and commitment.
After 13 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, Quinn spent several years in Savannah working primarily in the hospitality industry as a concierge for Old Town Trolley Savannah Tours.
In 2011, Quinn felt the call to return to service and opted to enlist in the Georgia Army National Guard. She was recognized very quickly as an incredible NCO with great pride in her service. Over the past 14 years, Quinn deployed six times in support of multiple operations in foreign countries. Those who served with Quinn knew there was no one quite like her. She dedicated herself to her soldiers and this country. After 26 years of service, Quinn will be remembered for the standards of excellence she set and her loyalty to the mission and to those with whom she served.
She is survived by her best friend, O’Mar Walker and his family, as well as many friends who knew her most.
