Glennville
Jewel Kicklighter Griner, 97, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of her loving family and Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born in the Beards Creek area of Tattnall County and lived in Glennville all of her life. She taught school in the Tattnall County School System for 34 years. She had a great love for all of the students she taught which was shown when she was voted Star Teacher in 1975. She was the oldest member of Glennville First Christian Church where she was very active and taught Sunday School for many years. She was an avid gardener and loved to grow flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie R. Griner; daughter, Marguerite Griner;
grandson, Richard Moody Jr.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be from 5:00 �½" 7:00 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral services will be 4:00 pm, Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
