Jimmy Colson

Mr. Jimmy Colson, 80 of Metter passed away Wednesday morning, July 18, 2018 at his residence.
He was born March 20, 1938 to Mr. Walter and Mrs. Maggie Weathers Colson and lived in this area all his life. He was a painter, handyman and a maintenance technician with Candler County Board of Education for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish, spend time with his grandchildren, tending to his vegetable garden and was a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by parents; brother, Harry Colson and a sister, Freda Colson Driggers.
He is survived by wife of 61 years, Gertrude Attebery Colson of Metter; son, Wayne Colson (Tina); daughters, Pam Davis (Ken) and Bonita Foskey (Wayne); brother, Benny Colson (Margaret); sister, Gwenell Colson Moon; sister-in-law, Vivian Colson; grandchildren, Tabetha Sikes Hebden (Scott); Amanda Foskey; Brandon Foskey; great-grandchildren, Zachary Hebden; Dakota Hebden; McKenna Cunningham.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening, July 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes, Metter Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Cedar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Bo Fulginiti officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hart, Jason Atteberry, Joey Atteberry, Kenny Atteberry, Zachary Hebden, Dakota Hebden, Brandon Foskey, Cody Roux, Randy Driggers and Paul Driggers.
Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes, Metter Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
