Jimmy Wallace Howard, Sr, 68, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born January 16, 1947 to Hughland Q. Howard, Sr. and Frankie Overstreet Howard. Jimmy and Vivian Elaine Iddins were married on June 18, 1966 by Ordinary, W.H. Bazemore. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam receiving a Bronze Star. Jimmy's true passion was fishing, watching westerns, collecting memorabilia, and spending time with his family. His true love was his wife Vivian and the 49 years they spent side by side. The apple of his eye was his son Stacy until Dalton was born, then he became his "other pea in the pod". Jimmy loved his grandpuppies, Harley and Kozmo too. Although Harley won his heart, she was "Papa's" girl and he definitely had her spoiled. He also loved his NASCAR racing. Bill Elliot was his favorite driver for years until Bill retired. His love for NASCAR was renewed when Chase Elliot started his career. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Faye Howard and a brother, Ricky Howard.
Jimmy is survived by, wife of 49 years, Vivian Iddins Howard, a son, Jimmy W. Howard, Jr (Monica), a grandson, Dalton Howard all of Glennville.
He is also survive brothers, Johnny Howard (Carol) of Glennville, DeWayne Howard (Lynda) of Glennville, Vance Howard (Kim) of Glennville, Mike Howard (Connie) of Ludowici, Ann Smith (Charlie) of Savannah, Joy Love (Eli) of Glennville, Pam Cavanaugh (Bruce) of Savannah, Kathy Nobles (Frankie) of Glennville, Brenda Pye (Eddie) of Odom, and Carol Lewandowski (Paul) of Ludowici. Aunts, Mary Hilton, Sherry Rowe (Oscar) all of Glennville, Charlene Rahn (Keith) of Hinesville, Virginia Howard of Richmond Hill. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Monday, October 12, 2015 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr and Rev. Robert Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.
