John Howard

Metter- John Paul Howard, 66 of Metter died early Monday morning at his home. The Candler County native lived in this area most of his life. He was a graduate of Metter High School Class of 1964. He attended Georgia Southern University, and was a 1970 graduate of the University of Georgia, School of Pharmacy. As a pharmacist he had worked at Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta, The Veterans Administration, Tattnall County Hospital, and for several years at Candler County Hospital. He was a member of Metter Presbyterian Church, where he also served as treasurer. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Ila Howard.

Surviving are Wife Mary Alice Howard of Metter, and Step-Son Walter Kevin Palmer of Lawrenceville.

Visitation will be from 5-7pm Wednesday at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy Brannen Funeral Homes.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 11:00am at the Metter Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Joe Anderson officiating. The body will lie in state at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at the Lake Church Cemetery in Metter.

Family requests remembrances be made to the Metter Presbyterian Church.
