John Lethridge Waters

John Lethridge Waters, 92, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Augusta University Medical Center after a short illness. Born on September 16, 1931, to Homer and Viola McGlashan Waters, Lethridge led a remarkable life filled with purpose and love.

After years of service, he retired from Georgia State Prison as a correctional officer. Lethridge found joy in the simple things in life like his love for farming, fishing, planting and tending his garden, engaging in a friendly game of pool, and most of all, spending time with his beloved family brought him immense happiness. He was also a member of Hopewell Church.

Lethridge is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Syrell Waters, Gene Waters, wife, Betty Ann Waters and a grandson, Josh Odom.

He is survived by: 

Daughters: Kay Dasher (Clinton)
Patti Odom (Joe) all of Glennville, Georgia

Sister, Maderia Smith of Reidsville, Georgia

Grandchildren, Clint Dasher (Brandy), Matt Dasher, Sarah Thigpen (Joe), Lainey King (Andrew), Laura Sims (Justin)

Eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews,

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
