John O. Parker, 78, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at Abercorn Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 12, 1943 in Glennville, Georgia to Clyer Taft and Maggie Lavenia Weitman Parker and was a graduate of Glennville High School. John O. worked for Georgia Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer, was a self employed land surveyor and held an annual Shad fish fry for retired GDOT employees and friends. He was Chairman of the Tattnall County Commissioners from 2001 – 2004, loved to spend time at his coastal home and was an animal lover. John O. was a kind, patient and a compassionate person who always put the needs of others first and would be the first to remind us “to ever put the needs of others first.” He is preceded in death by parents, wife, Sandra O’Neal Parker, brother, Eston "Bo" Parker, sister-in-law, Bertie Lou Parker and nephew, Eston Taft Parker II.

Aunts, Melba Brannen
Nelda Neidlinger both of Glennville, GA
Several cousins and friends also survive.
Visitation will begin 12:00 noon, Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022 from the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Sollosi officiating. Burial will follow in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Tattnall County Animal Shelter, 114 West Brazell Street, Reidsville, Georgia 30453.
