John Winston Powell

Cobbtown- Mr. John Winston Powell, 81 of Cobbtown died early Sunday morning January 25, 2015 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. He was a life long resident of Tattnall County, and was retired farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He is predeceased by his wife Eunice Green Powell, parents Madison and Josephine Missouri Akins Powell; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Mr. Powell is survived by his daughter Peggy Powell (Mike) Collins of Cobbtown; grandson John Robert "Rob" Kennedy of Cobbtown, and great-granddaughter Masley Anna Kennedy of Claxton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service celebrating Mr. John's life will be conducted Wednesday January 28, 2015, 3:00pm at Cobbtown Baptist Church with the Rev. Kim McElven officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to the time of service at the church.
