Joretha Godbee

JoRetha Thompson Godbee, 77, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia, Georgia. She was born February 12, 1946 in Glennville, Georgia to Freddie and Inez Groover Thompson and lived in this area all of her life. JoRetha was a homemaker and operated an in-home daycare for children for many years. She loved to listen to gospel music and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. JoRetha was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her father, Freddie Godbee, mother, Inez Barrow, sisters, Lorine Burrows, Linda T. Morris and brother, Theron Thompson.

She is survived by:

Daughters and Sons-in-law, Tammy & Chris Pearson of Ailey, Georgia
Carla & Greg Davis of Collins, Georgia

Five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funerals Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Harmony Church Cemetery.
