Julian E."Gene" Dutton II, 65, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of his life. He was born September 25, 1946 to Julian, and Joyce Dutton and a graduate of Glennville High School. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 36 years of service. After retirement he worked 5 years with the Georgia Department of Public Safety. He was a member of Gospel Baptist Church where he served as music director and Junior Boy's Sunday School Teacher. His family, and serving the Lord were the most important parts of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Joyce Dutton.
He is survived by, Wife, Mattie Bell Dutton of Glennville
Son, Charles (Ruby) Dutton of Reidsville
Grandchildren, Cheyenne, Ashton and Lilly Dutton
Sister, Sandra Dutton of Savannah
Brothers, Dale (Debbie) Dutton
Lester (Darlene) Dutton all of Glennville
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Gospel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery. The body will be taken to the Church at 2:00 PM to lie in state.
