Katie Lee Bland Futch, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Community Hospice Center in Vidalia. She was born April 18, 1929 in Long County, Georgia to Troy and Lillie Akins Bland and lived here all of her life. She and her husband owned and operated Futch's Store for many years and she was a homemaker. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theron Futch; son, Jerry Futch; two sisters, Bernice McLeod and Frances McLeod; and five brothers, Early, Tully, Raymond, Billy and Bobby Bland.
Survivors include:
Grandsons: Jamie Futch of Lyons and Eric Futch of Athens
Four Great-Grandchildren: Ashley Garrett, Alexis and Chase Futch and Anthony Futch.
Special Caregivers: Donnie and Neva Collins and family
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be from 6:00 �½" 8:00 pm, Friday, July 31, 2015 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Gregg Usry officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Justin McLeod, Trent Sikes, Clint Oliver, Ken Oliver, Scott Waters and Troy Bland.
