Kenneth Edmond Holliday, affectionately known as Eddy, 69, passed away on November 15, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia. Born on August 17, 1955, in Munich, Germany, to Kenneth "Doc" and Delores Vinyard Holliday, he lived in Glennville all of his life.
Eddy dedicated a significant part of his life to serving his country as a proud veteran of the United States Army, where devoted 18 years of his life. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career; he was known for his selfless, giving, loving, and caring nature, which endeared him to many.
In his professional life, Eddy was employed at MATES at Ft. Stewart. However, it was in his personal pursuits that Eddy truly shone. He was musically inclined, demonstrating an extraordinary talent for playing various string instruments. Self-taught, he masterfully played the guitar and banjo, often seen playing and singing, sharing joyous moments with those around him.
Eddy cherished his hobbies, particularly hunting and fishing, and held an avid love for NASCAR and firearms. He was also a proud Mason with Philadelphia Lodge #73.
The pride of Eddy's life were his granddaughters, with whom he shared countless cherished memories and moments of joy. His legacy continues in the hearts of those who were fortunate to call him family and friend.
Eddy is preceded in death by, his parents, wife, Cay Blocker Holliday and a daughter, Misty Holliday.
He is survived by:
Daughter and Son-in-law, Darla & Clayton Walker of Glennville, Georgia
Siblings, Dan Holliday (Patsy) of Glennville, Georgia
Bonnie Andrews (Rick) of Glennville, Georgia
Cindy Marshall of Laramie, Wyoming
Granddaughters, Kensley Love and Caylee Walker
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 18, 2024, at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
