Larry Bruce Branham

April 5, 1948 — October 9, 2023

Glennville

Larry Bruce Branham, age 75, of Glennville, Georgia, entered into his eternal Heavenly rest on October 9, 2023.

Larry was born in Springfield, Ohio, on April 5, 1948, to Chester and Eileen Branham.

At 17 years of age, Larry left home and family to join the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his time in Vietnam, he was engaged in numerous firefights and hand-to-hand combat. He fought bravely and heroically, and for this, he earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, and Purple Heart. He served his country well.

Soon after his honorable discharge from the military, Larry married his beautiful bride and love of his life, Jeri, and they began their family.

In 1976, after visiting Victory Baptist Church, Larry trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and only way to Heaven. He made sure to keep his family in Gospel-preaching churches and often worked two or three jobs to keep his children in Christian school. He was very involved in his church in the bus ministry, children's church, and visitation.

Larry would tell you, as would anyone who knew him well, that Jesus was the most important thing in his life, followed closely by his "Baby Dumplins" (Jeri) and his children and grandchildren. Becoming a "Papaw" was the final piece to his life's puzzle. Little thrilled him more than to spend time with his Grand Babies and Buddies.

At the time of his passing, Larry was retired from a career as an electrician.

Larry enjoyed a wide range of activities including playing many games, especially card games and mini golf; spending time with family and friends; cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes; and watching western shows and movies, especially if John Wayne was the lead character.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Branham and Eileen Branham Crisp; and Grandmother, Mary Catherine Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Jeri Branham; brother, Roger (Debi) Crisp; sons, Gary (Tina) Branham and Larry (Sara) Branham; daughter, Tracy (Eric) Durrence; grandsons Ryan (Ashley) Garner, Andrew, Caleb, and Timothy Branham, and Joshua (Chelsea) Sapp and Jared Sapp; granddaughters Hope (Emilio) Roman, Rachael (Matt) Martin, Rebekah, Hannah, and Sarah Sapp, and Jessie, Dixie, and Sydney Branham; great-grandsons Cale and Micah Martin; great-granddaughters Luna Roman and Zoey Martin; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church, Glennville, Georgia on October 12, at 10:00 a.m., followed by Larry's Homegoing service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Miller will be officiating with burial immediately following at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
