LaVerne Yeomans Myren, 98, passed away peacefully at her residence Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Washington DC. She was born June 20th, 1915 to parents, Daniel and Rosabelle Mattox Yeomans in the Stony Hill Community of Tattnall County, Georgia. After graduating from Reidsville High School, class of 1931 she attended Cosmetology College in Tampa, Florida before moving to Washington, DC in 1935. Ms. Myren was a superb business woman, owning several salons and a cosmetics school, in Virginia in the early 1970's. She was also an active member of the DC City Council. During the early John F. Kennedy administration she often did cosmetic touch up work before Television appearances by the President.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Rosabelle Mattox Yeomans, brother, Buster Yeomans, Daughter, Cherry Donna Myren, her husband Edward Myren, uncle and aunt, Ben and Annie Lou Mattox.
She is survived by, loyal companion of forty years, Tim Cvetnick of Washington, DC
Sister in-law, Evelyn Yeomans of Grey, Georgia
Nieces, Barbara Hubbard and Janet Eremchuk, both of Bellingham, Maine
Great niece and nephew, Rachael Eremchuk and Daniel Eremchuk
Cousin, Gwytha Mattox Ryan wife of retired General Thomas Ryan of Glennville and San Antonio Texas.
Very Special and devoted friends, Kyle and Sonia Durrence and their children, Bethany, Bailey and Brynn all of Reidsville, Georgia
Graveside Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Stony Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
