Legay Driggers

Lagay Durrence Dirggers, 79, passed away Thursday July 27, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. LeGay would like you all to know that her work here is done. She received a call for a divine appointment from which she will not be returning. Her new assignment comes with tremendous privileges, including a reunion with her father and mother (Ivy & Dorothy Durrence), sister (Linda Banks), and many other beloved friends and family members. This new mission takes her to a place where she'll be square dancing down streets of gold; eating countless Klondike bars, yet somehow continuing to maintain her small frame; sharing her infamous homemade biscuits; socializing to her heart's content; and undoubtedly keeping her big, beautiful mansion spotless. She will receive many crowns and precious robes, because her heart was stitched with the purest of gold and overflowing with graciousness and passion for her beliefs. She never met a stranger, and greeted everyone with her bright, crystal blue eyes and kind words, including all of those that came into First Citizens Bank, where she was happily employed for some 30 years. Though LeGay has now received a higher calling, her time here on Earth as a wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend was precious. She will be dearly missed by many, including:

Children: Shawn & wife, Kelly Driggers; Lana & husband, Keith Wiggins
Grandchildren: Jeremy & wife, Katie Wiggins; Natalie & husband, Jordan Orvin; and Christopher Driggers
Great-Grandchildren: Colt Wiggins, Case Wiggins, and Sterlyn Orvin
Siblings: Carolyn & husband, Talmadge Todd; Ronnie & wife, Bytha Durrence
And many nieces and nephews.

Though no amount of time is ever long enough, we're thankful for the years we shared and memories we made with her.


Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home, Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Beards Creek Church Cemetery.
