Leoan Walsh

Metter Leola Diane Wilburn Walsh, 63, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012. A Florida native, she moved to Metter in 1982 and after declining health she moved to Hampton, S.C. to live with her daughter during the last eight months. She worked as a waitress and seamstress, was of Baptist faith. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, cooking big holiday meals and gathering wild flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Allen Lee and Ola Mae NeSmith Wilburn, one sister, Vickie Wilburn.

Surviving, three daughters, Sonya (Clyde) Fennell of Hampton, SC, LaTasha Walsh, Tara Walsh, both of Metter , three sons, Robert (Carla) Wilburn of Metter, Keith Walsh of Stillmore, Jody Walsh of Soperton. One brother, Rodney Wilburn of Vidalia, one sister, Tony Wilburn of Dublin. Eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, 2pm in the chapel of Kennedy Morgan Brannen Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Sykora officiating. Burial will follow in the Cool Springs Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8 also at the funeral home.
