Lorene Carter Johnson, 88, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family and under the care of Georgia Hospice. She was born August 23, 1929 to James Henry Carter Sr. and Lottie Tillman Carter and lived in this area most of her life. She was employed with Glennville Red and White, and Waters Bi Rite for many years in the Bakery Department and worked in the textile industry as a seamstress. She loved to read, go fishing and be with her family. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and preceded in death by her parents, husband, LeRoy Johnson Sr. and a grandson, Terry Ryland.
She is survived by: Children, Linda Johnson Rhodes of Glennville, GA
LeRoy Johnson Jr., (Bobbie) of Glennville, GA
Grandchildren, John Mock (Barbie) of Glennville, GA
Melissa Hurst (Chris) of Jesup, GA
James Johnson (Jennifer) of Jesup, GA
Six Great Grandchildren, One Great Great grandchild, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 12, 2018 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, Monday at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Long officiating. Burial will be in Pigott Branch Church Cemetery.
