Louis Standard

Louis D. Standard, 76, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011, at his residence under the care of his family and Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was a graduate of Glennville High School and Georgia Southern University with a degree in Criminology. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area most of his life. He was retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years of service, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was retired from the Department of Corrections at Georgia State Prison. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Heidt & Babe Standard, and wife, Judy Standard.

Several Nieces & Nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delaine Standard officiating. Burial will follow in the Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors.
