Louise Blackburn

Metter- Laura Louise Simpson Blackburn 87 died Saturday at her home after a sudden illness. She was born in Cameron (Screven county, GA.) and had lived several years in St. Mary's before returning back to the Metter area in the early 80's.

J.W. and Louise were part of the founding members of The St. Mary's and The Metter Church of Christ and she was very dedicated to her faith. Louise loved gardening, especially cooking candy and was known as the "Candy Lady". She enjoyed following the Atlanta Braves and Politics. She was predeceased by her Husband; J.W. Blackburn, parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Survivors: Son; Joe (Maryann) Blackburn of Dublin, Daughter; Beth Ann (Jeff) Dunn of Dermott AK, Sisters; Ruth Trapnell and Jerry (Ray) Ramirez, Brother; Randall L. (Mickey) Simpson all of Metter. 5 Grandsons and 7 Great-Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday in the chapel with burial in the Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
