Luther H. "Shot" Todd
Shellman Bluff- Mr. Luther H. "Shot" Todd, 73 of Shellman Bluff died Wednesday at Hospice Savannah. He was born in Candler County and lived in Stillmore for 32 years before moving to Statesboro; 13 years ago he moved to Shellman Bluff where he could spend time doing his favorite pastime of fishing. He also enjoyed racing, and being a hunting guide for bow hunters on Blackbeard Island. He retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections, farming, and owned Eagle Fence and most recently worked at Coastal Breeze Realty in Shellman Bluff, until his health forced him to slow down. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin Luther and Janie Harper Todd, and the mother of his children Melba Barnes.
He is survived by his wife Judy Taylor Todd, children Travis (Anne) Todd, of Metter, Tammy (Sam) Todd Stewart of Richmond Hill; step-son David (Sandy) Coursey of Metter, and his sister Bobby Ann Fagan of Martinez, GA. 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 4, 2015 3:00pm at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel, where several of his friends and family will celebrate his life in eulogy and stories. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
On Monday April, 6, 2015 at 2:00pm, family and friends will gather at the Julienton Landing Community Dock, located at 1110 Julienton Landing NE, Shellman Bluff, Georgia where they will celebrate Shot's life and have a scattering of cremains to be carried out to sea, by the outgoing tide.
