Madera Smith of Duluth, GA passed away Sunday, December 6, 2105 at Saint Ives Memory Care. She was born April 22, 1931 to Ashmore and Nina Mae Sands Smith and a lifelong resident of Glennville until three years ago when failing health forced a move. A true Southern Lady to the end, thanking her hospice nurses and inviting them to return. Madera attended and graduated from Glennville High School. She served and worked on many boards and committees in the community to include the Glennville PTA, Glennville Welcoming Committee, Glennville Garden Club and the Glennville Auditorium Restoration Committee. She was a member of Glennville First Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Annie Carr Circle. Heaven will shine a little brighter with her love of the Christmas Season and decorating. She is preceded in death by, parents, and an infant sister.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, Wednesday at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
