Margie "Marge" Ann Schleimer Leinen, 88, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro, Georgia.

Marge was born out in a country farmhouse near Kirkman, Iowa on February 12, 1935 and was baptized at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa. Margie moved to Kirkman, Iowa and started rural school at age 4. At the young age of 8 she started her life of gardening and learning how to keep house. Margie graduated from Irwin High School in 1952 and went to Omaha, Nebraska to graduate school for Airlines. She did not find it exciting, so she then went to work for Mutual of Omaha and Northern Natural Gas.

On October 5, 1957, Margie united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Leinen at St. Peters Church in Befrance, Iowa. Following their marriage in April of 1958 Larry entered the US Army and Marge followed him throughout his military career. They had two children, Mark and Janet.

In 1974 they moved to Yutan, Nebraska and resided there for 47 years. In the mid 80's Marge and Larry started on of their favorite pastimes, 10k Volksmarching in Nebraska.

Margie is preceded in death by her father, Frank Schleimer, mother, Josephine Shleimer, and two brothers.

She is survived by:

Children, Mark Leinen of Coral Springs, Florida
Janet Bussell of Glennville, Georgia

Sisters, Joyce Strode of Ashland, Nebraska
Jolene Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska

Grandchildren, Sarah Hodges of Statesboro, Georgia
Monique Leinen and Ethan Leinen both of Coral Springs, Florida

Services will be held at a later date in Nebraska.
