Marion Gray Showalter, 79, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The Maryland native had lived in Tampa, Florida for many years moving to Glennville in 1980. She was an accomplished Artist, Homemaker and Chairperson for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years. She was a member of V.F.W Post # 8379 Women's Auxiliary, a member of the Eastern Star, a Volunteer with Glennville Museum and Glennville Welcome Center. She attended Glennville First Baptist Church where she was a member of Joy Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by, husband, Donald L. Showalter and a daughter, Dona Cela, brother, Robert Gray & Ada Rynal
She is survived by,
Daughters: Nancy Purvis and Lisa Lester, both of Glennville
Grandsons: Buddy Barrow and Brad Purvis, both of Glennville
Brother and Sister in law: Howard and Marion Gray of Glennville
Sister and Brother in law, Dorothy & Tom Wachob of Bellaire Beach, Florida
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Dixon and Rev. Artis Carswell officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Buddy Barrow, Brad Purvis, Donald Barrow, Dale Kirkland, Lance Bradley and Jason Dubberly.
