Marquette Durrence 81, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at Camellia Health & Rehab in Claxton. He was born in Glennville September 19, 1930 to Marcus and Ruth Purvis Durrence and lived here all of his life. He was one of the first poultry farmers in this area for Claxton Poultry and loved farming and watching things grow. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a member of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Sands Durrence of Glennville
Children, Teresa and Robert Sands of Duluth, Georgia
Tracy and Susan Durrence of Glennville
Joni and David Lewis of Sandersville, Georgia
Sister, Marklyn Durrence of Jacksonville, Florida
Nine Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 beginning at 1:30 at Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
