Martha Flynt

March 23, 1919 — July 7, 2011

Metter Martha Sander Flynt passed away on July 7, 2011 at Candler County Hospital. She was with us for 92 remarkable years. She was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 23, 1919 to Rudolph and Laura Sander. Martha led an unbelievable life. She met and married a true gentleman, John Milton Flynt. The two of them created a wonderful family of seven children, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Martha loved her family. She was an awesome cook, fantastic at fishing and a true friend to the people around her. She dedicated her life to her husband of 64 years and her children and their families. There was never a day that she wasn't baking cookies, cakes, fudge or her fabulous homemade bread. Everyone in the neighborhood enjoyed visiting the Flynt home because she made it so inviting.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Milton Flynt, daughter-in-law Brenda Flynt (late wife of Malcolm), yet she leaves behind her children, Jimmy (Pat) Flynt, Kenneth (Melody) Flynt, Malcolm Flynt, Chester (Frances) Flynt, Ronny (Johnny Lou) Flynt, Tommy (Elaine) Flynt, Sandra (Glenn) Cardell, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Kennedy-Morgan-Brannen Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
