Mary Blocker

Mary Sikes Blocker, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro. She was born March 25, 1934 to Luther Herbert and Sallie Kate Kennedy Sikes and lived in this area all of her life. She was retired from the Tattnall Evans Training Center, a member of the Glennville First Christian Church for 72 years and a Sunday school teacher there for over 30 years. She loved to watch Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs and work in her garden. She was a loving caring, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Hugh Drexel Blocker, Sr.

She is survived by:
Children, Drexel Blocker, Jr. (Joanie) of Jesup, GA
Tony Blocker of Statesboro, GA
David Blocker (Kim) of Black Creek, GA
Dana Blocker (Delane) of Pembroke, GA
Sister, Bobbie Reeves of Glennville, GA
Brother in Law, Buddy Bradley (Jan) of Glennville, GA

Twelve Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Glennville Memorial Gardens.
