Mary Wheeler

Mary "Jody" Wheeler, 90, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 21, 1925 in Long County, Georgia to John Ernest and Alice Camron Smiley and lived in this area all of her life. She was employed as a seamstress in the textile industry, a homemaker, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church and preceded in death by, her parents, husband, Rudy W. Wheeler, Sr.,1 brother, 3 sisters.
She is survived by, Children, Alice W. (Jim) Poole of Uvalda, GA
Rudy W. (Joni) Wheeler, Jr. of Hilton Head, SC
Sister, Wilma Moody of Glennville, GA
Grandchildren, Sherry (Jeff) Barnes, Tim (Angie) Hodges, Jill (Richard) Rolls, Chad Wheeler, Kelly (Mike) Andersen, 9 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Gum Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Gabe Gill, Rev. Edward Brannen and Rev. Bobby Brinkley officiating. Burial will be in Gum Branch Church Cemetery.
