Max Anthony Garner

Metter- Max Anthony Garner 72, of Metter died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his residence after a short battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Bessemer City, NC and moved with his family to Gainesville in 1979. He was a graduate of Western Carolina University where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He retired from the Southern Link and in addition was the long-time owner of The Wood Shed gift shop in Helen,GA. He is predeceased by his parents, David & Nellie Garner of North Carolina.

He is survived by his daughters Gina (Keith) Caston of Oakwood, GA; and Shelly Garner of Gainesville, GA. Brother David Garner of St. Petersburg, FL. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Harrison Caston and Taylor & Carly Buffington, all of Gainesville. In addition he was survived by Pat Garner, the mother of his children.

A memorial service will be held at Tybee Island, Georgia at a future date.
