Merle Strickland Moore passed away April 3,2023 in Miami Fl. Merle was born October 1, 1923 in Glennville Ga. to O.W. Strickland and Agnes Tootle Strickland. Merle had two older sisters Mrs. Doris Jones, Mrs. Doremus Penney and a younger brother Mr. Earle Strickland, all predeceased her. Merle was married to John B. Moore for 77 years until his passing in 2019. Merle was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared for many people during her life, young and old. Merle’s passion was cooking, and she spent many happy hours cooking for family, friends, and members of her church. Merle also enjoyed her many jobs but the retail industry was her favorite. Husband John B. Moore, daughter Elizabeth Ann Moore and son John G. Moore all predeceased her.
Merle is survived by son Richard H. Moore (Rhonda), daughter Marion Cramer (Kevan), and son in law Thomas Garvanian. She is survived by grandchildren Richard C. Moore, Amanda-Dahill Moore, Katherine Moore, Mariah Dahill-Moore, Nicholas Cramer, Josiah Moore and great grandson Asa Dahill-Murillo, first cousins Wylene Johnson, Judy Stanfield, Gloria Fincher, great nieces Kristina Leopard and Kathleen Cannon. The family thanks Maria Morales and Maria Torrentes for their love and care over the years.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will be in Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
