Mildred E. Collier "Swacky", 89, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Georgia Hospice. She was born September 16, 1929 to George and Sallie Bowen Wilkerson and lived in Fitzgerald most of her life moving to Ludowici in her later years. She was employed with Lowell Packing Company in Fitzgerald for many years and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mildred was a homemaker that loved to cook, quilt and spend time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother . She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Collier; infant children, Leroy Collier, Jr, and Elizabeth Collier; children, Maryann Williams and Thomas Collier; siblings, Edith Sparks, George Wilkerson, Jr, and Willie Wilkerson.
She is survived by:
Children, James Collier (Jacqueline) of Abbeville, Georgia
Ruby Lee "Margie" Reddish (Hugh) of Ludowici, Georgia
Lee Collier of Abbeville, Georgia
Sister, Essie Cook of Fitzgerald, Georgia
Twelve Grandchildren, Nineteen Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mildred was "Granny" to everyone she ever met.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm, at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, January 3, 2018 at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery, 952 Siloam Rd. Abbeville, GA 31001.
