Mollie Gumm

Mollie Jean Gumm, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 29, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born April 8, 1938 in Ludowici, Georgia to Vernon and Hattie Johnson Blocker and has lived in this area all of her life. Jean was a seamstress, loved to fish, tend her flowers and spend time with her family. She was strong willed and could do anything she set her mind to. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Gumm, siblings, Buddy Blocker, Vera Dunham, Grace Mitchum, Eunice DuRose and Myrtle Lee Futch.

She is survived by:

Children, Amy Golden of Cresent, Georgia
Sharon Vinson (Lawrence) of Glennville, Georgia
Jeannie Gumm of Baxley, Georgia
Richard Gumm II (Carolyn) of Manassas, Georgia

Ten grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Pigott Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
