Mr. Alan "Burt" Lanier

March 2, 1960 — June 20, 2021

Mr. Alan Burton “Burt” Lanier, 61, of Metter, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lanier was born March 2, 1960 in Statesboro to Mr. John Byron and Mrs. Mildred Attwood Lanier and lived in Metter all his life. He was a Registered Nurse working with Georgia Department of Corrections for many years. He was of the Baptist faith and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was a true outdoorsman he was a music and gun enthusiast. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Barry Lanier and Brent Lanier.

He is survived by:

Sons: Zach Lanier (Chelsea) of Statesboro, GA

Hunter Lanier (Connie) of Statesboro, GA

Grandson: Grant Lanier

Numerous other relatives also survive.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Jackie Wallace, Al Bland, Hank Chappell, Jim Pittman, Benjie Williams, and Scott Callaway.

Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Home of Metter, GA is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Alan Burton “Burt” Lanier.
