Mr. Carl Thomas Britt, 72, of Metter passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Community Hospice.
Mr. Britt was born on September 5, 1947 to Mr. Cecil Thomas and Mrs. April Loretta Smith Britt in Fort Pierce, Florida. He served in the United States Navy and received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Ribbon. He was a millright for many years and was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren telling them about his days in Vietnam, attending NASCAR, Dirt Track, Enduro Stock Car Racing and High school sports.
He is preceded death by his parents and wife, Angela Miles Britt.
Left to cherish his memory his daughters, Carla Bowron (Jake) of Atlanta, Meechel Finley (Cliff) of Statesboro and Tonya Sellers (Ray) Sellers of Fernandina, FL.; brothers, Spencer Britt (Sara Jo) of Millen and Jerry Britt of Jesup; sisters, Josephine Scott of Tennessee and Bonnie Roberts of Jesup. Seven grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2019 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Baxley.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Cambell, Jake Bowron, Cliff Finley, Ray Sellers, John Vedder, Kevin Johnson and Leonard Mills.
Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes, Metter Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
