Mr. Jerry Cadwell, Jr.

Mr. Jerry Cleveland Cadwell, Jr., 81, of Cobbtown, passed away Sunday afternoon August 8, 2021 at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mr. Cadwell was born on October 6, 1939 in Metter to Mr. Jerry Cleveland Cadwell, Sr. and Mrs. Ola Mae Glisson Cadwell, living in this area all his life. He served his country by joining the United States Army, and received the Marksman Medal (Rifle M-1) and the First Class Gunner medal (M-60). After his service to our country, he became a farmer. He served on the Excelsior EMC Board of Directors for 44 years. He was a member and Deacon of Evergreen Baptist Church, he served on several committees at the church, and was a member of the church choir. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his only grandson, Brant. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Eddie Cadwell and Winston Cadwell.

Wife of 56 years:        Melva Dean Sherrod Cadwell of Cobbtown, GA

Children:                     Tonya Cadwell of Cobbtown, GA

Pamela Cadwell Davis (Broc) of Reidsville, GA

Sister:                          Brenda Cadwell Rogers (Roy) of Claxton, GA

Grandson:                   Brant Davis of Reidsville, GA

Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
