Mrs. Thelma Louise Marthers Turner, 96, of Metter, died Friday, May 22, 2020 at Cedar Plantation. She was born June 4, 1923, in Winnsboro, S.C. to Melvin and Christine Marthers. A member of Metter First Baptist Church, she was a retired seamstress and caregiver. She was active in Eastern Star, American Cancer Society, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Ulys Bird, Walton Collins, and Lee Turner; two grandchildren William J. Bird, Jr., and Robin V. Bird; sisters Ella Mae Bland and Evelyn McCoy and brother, John Marthers.
She is survived by:

Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Smith officiating.
Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Home, Metter Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
