Ned Pratt Banks, 90, passed away on April 17, 2025, at Evans Memorial Hospital. Born on March 5, 1935, in Glennville, Georgia, to Eben and Ruby Bacon Banks, Ned lived a long remarkable life, filled with dedication and hard work.

Ned proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career in civil service at Fort Stewart. He later contributed his labor to the Mascot Pecan Company for many years.

Known for his warm and inviting personality, Ned was a man who loved to visit with people and welcome them into his life. His helpful nature and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His interests extended to passionate activities such as fishing and tending to his fruit trees, pursuits that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with the beauty of nature.

He is preceded in death by, his parents, siblings, Larry Banks, Ed Banks, Revis Banks, Maridean Brewton, Linda Waters, Dealva Banks, Marjorie Durrence and a granddaughter, Dana Bell.

Ned is survived by: 

Children, Mary Ann Jenkins (John) of Savannah, Georgia
Jeffery Banks of Glennville, Georgia

Step-Daughter, Rhonda Darnell of Glennville, Georgia

Sister, Delores Harlow of Waycross, Georgia

Grandchildren, Jennifer Willis (Tim), Daniel Baker (Addie), Duston Baker (Sierra), Jason Bell, Macy Fennell

Ten Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Ned's legacy will be honored during visitation at Brannen Family Funeral Services on April 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. His life was a testimony to the values of friendship, service, and love for the community, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
