Odis "Big O" Sikes, age 89 of Cobbtown, passed away on Thursday evening, August 31, 2017 at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville. Mr. Sikes resided in Cobbtown most of his life, he was born on June 17, 1928 to Mr. Harvey and Mrs. Evie Sikes. Mr. Sikes served his country in the Korean War, he also was a store owner and mechanic for many years. Mr. Sikes was of the Baptist Faith, in his spare time he enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggert on Sunday mornings. Mr. Sikes enjoyed eating breakfast at the Waffle House and Huddle House, when he was able to.
Mr. Sikes is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Evie Sikes; wife, Lois Sikes and a brother, James Sikes
He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Kenny (Karen) Sikes of Collins and Stephen Stuckey of Guyton; sisters, Eunice Hess of Cobbtown and Evon Morris of Lyons. Two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous other relatives also survive.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 1-3 pm from Sunlight Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 3 pm with the Rev. Jerral Dorr officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunlight Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Sikes, Ronnie Jarriel, Trae Glider and Travis Mathis.
