Patricia Driggers Cheek Durrence

Patricia Driggers Cheek Durrence, 86, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia. She was born on February 16, 1937, in Glennville, Georgia to Charles Jackson and Lucille Weitman Driggers. 

After graduating from Glennville High School, Patricia embarked on a career as she operated the check stand for Augusta National Golf Club for the Master's from 1960 to 1985. Her warm smile and friendly personality made every golfer feel welcome as they came through her line. She took great pride in being part of such an iconic golfing event and left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

Patricia was also a homemaker. She possessed an immense love for her family and dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for them.
She had a love for spending quality time with loved ones and watching gameshows on television. Whether it was gathering together for visits or sharing laughter during family dinners, Patricia cherished these moments dearly. 

Patricia was a member of Northside Baptist Church and is preceded in death by, her parents, husband, Fred A. Cheek, son, Fred A. Cheek III, siblings, Brice Driggers, Randall Driggers, Simmie Driggers, Sr and Peggy Lescallet.

She is survived by:

              Gary Driggers (Brenda) of Augusta, Georgia

Grandchildren, Andy, Alden, Casey, Molly, Randall, Rob, Hannah, Wesley, Blake, Paul, Bethany and Savannah

Nine great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Brannen Family Funeral Services in Glennville, Georgia with Funeral Services to follow at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the Chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. On Thursday, August 24, 2023 family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. at Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, 2502 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta, Georgia with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 pm at West View Cemetery in Augusta, Georgia.
