Raymond “Ray” Leaverette Paul, 72, of Richmond Hill, Georgia and husband of Carol Lynn Paul, died Saturday morning, September 11, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Thomas Leaverette Paul and the late Melba Utley Paul. He graduated from Butler High School in Augusta, Georgia, Class of 1968. He enlisted in the Marines at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina where he served honorably, achieving the Non-commissioned Officer rank of Corporal. After his tenure in the Marines, Ray pursued his career of Sales and Business. He loved spending time with his family, working outside in his yard, and cruising around in his 1977 Corvette and 1966 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck. Ray was also an avid golfer. He was a wonderful and loving Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Carol Lynn Paul of Richmond Hill; one daughter, Michele L. Paul (James J. Mahoney, IV); two sons, Steven L. Paul (Serena Whittikki) of Richmond Hill, Chad C. Paul (wife, Jenifer A. Paul) of Lincolnton, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Christopher D. Paul, Jacob A. Long, IV, Nicholas E. Paul, and Madelyn Rae Long. One Aunt, Gloria Mock, one sister, Wanda E. Judy (L.J.); two brothers, Thomas A. Paul (Peggy) and Michael D. Paul (Sandee), as well as nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 23, 2021 in the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glennville Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Social distancing of three feet due to Covid 19 will be enforced and masks are asked to be worn on all services.
