Robert Clifton

Metter Robert Edward Clifton, 49, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his home after an extended illness. A life long resident of Metter, he worked as a logger, mechanic and was of Baptist faith. Robert touched many lives, helped everyone he could and never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed fishing and his black lab Lacey.

Survivors, Mother, Sara Elizabeth Watkins Coxwell of Metter, Sisters, Patricia (Marvin) Busby, Newberry S.C., Linda (Paul) Sexton, Greenville, TN., Brother, Allen T. (Wanda) Clifton, Twin City, GA., Stepson, Dustin Rogers, Stepdaughter, Jessica Hutto both of Metter, GA., and Special Companion, Jackie Tatum also of Metter, GA. He was predeceased by his Father George Thomas Clifton.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11 AM at the Metter Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Millen City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday evening 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
