Robert Hower

Mr. Robert David Hower, 77 of Lyons, passed away Monday morning, March 12, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family, after an extended illness. He was born on October 20, 1940 to Mr. Lawrence Hower and Mrs. Aletha McCumber Hower, in Toombs County. The Toombs County native worked as a self-employed logger for many years, and was considered by his family as a workaholic. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Reidsville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Allen David Hower.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Hower of Lyons; sons, Brian Hower (Ashley) of Ohoophee and Richard Hower of Vidalia; daughter, Krista Strickland (Jonathan) of Lyons; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Reidsville. Memorial funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Reidsville with Craig Hawkes officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
